The City is in the conceptual planning stages of converting McKinney & Cole Ave. from one way to two way from Allen Street to Harvard Ave. The two-way conversion of McKinney and Cole Ave. supports the vision of the Dallas Complete Streets Manual by slowing traffic through residential & commercial neighborhoods, potentially reducing the number and severity of crashes for all modes, and improving the convenience and ease of use of our streets.
While bike lanes will not be included in this project, slower traffic speeds and improved neighborhood navigation due to the two-way conversion will encourage more cyclists to use McKinney and Cole for recreation and commuting throughout Uptown.
The PowerPoint presentation from our August 2016 public meeting can be viewed here. Additional public meetings will be announced in 2017. For information about the project, please contact Kimberly Smith, Senior Planner, Mobility and Street Services Department (firstname.lastname@example.org)
